Driveway & Patio Paving Pricing Information

When it comes to paving driveways and patios, it can be hard to give accurate pricing for this kind of work as every project is different in one way or another. However, to help you make your decision we will give you a rough idea of what you can expect to pay on a per square meter basis.

These prices assume that there is not a huge amount of groundwork to be done and that you are located inside of Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare or Meath. The final prices can range from €45 all the way up to €140 per square meter.

Our pricing is fully inclusive and transparent

Please note that the costs listed below are fully inclusive. This means they include design, ground prep work, supply and delivery of the necessary materials, high-quality installation and any finishing touches that may be required. At Master Driveway Paving Dublin, the price you agreed to is exactly what you get. We would never ever blindside you with hidden charges halfway through. That’s a promise.

Cobblelock

Cobblelock is a very popular choice of paving for driveways. Our supplier, Kilsaran, gives a 25-year guarantee on their products which are very high quality and durable.

For this material, we typically charge in the range of €55-75 per square metre. If you were interested in having us install granite finished cobblelock, then that would add an additional €10 to each square metre.

Natural Stone Paving

There are a few types of natural stone, each with their own colours, shapes and characteristics. The prices for these can vary widely, but they are typically are more labour intensive to install and are priced higher as a result. However, the extra costs upfront are well worth it in the long term because these materials are hard wearing and very low maintenance. Here are the different types of natural stone we offer and their respective prices:

  • Granite driveways cost around €90 to 110 per square metre.
  • Sandstone driveways cost around €85 to 95.
  • Limestone stone driveways are also in the €85 to 95 range.
  • Quartz, a very classy and upmarket stone which is also very hard-wearing, comes in at about €110 to 120 per square metre.
  • Finally, there is porcelain, which is the very finest product. It’s beautiful, durable, low maintenance, moss and frost resistant and grippy even in wet weather. It costs between €110 and 140 per square metre to install a porcelain driveway.

Gravel Driveways

For those who are on a much tighter budget, gravel is an excellent option. Usually, you can get this done for between €45 and 65 per square metre. There are plenty of different sizes and colours to choose from, it lasts a long time and can be installed very quickly.

Tarmac Driveways

Tarmac is also another good lower budget option. It looks clean and classy, doesn’t require a huge amount of upkeep and is useful for covering larger areas. Typically it runs between €50 and 70 per square metre.

Concrete Driveways

Concrete is priced the same as tarmac, usually at €50 to 70 per square metre. It’s incredibly long-lasting. It can look great for over 30 years if it is installed correctly at the start and looked after.

Imprinted concrete offers many different low-maintenance and hard-wearing designs and colours which look much better than boring old grey concrete.

Additional pricing considerations

Some other things that can affect the price include the amount of material we need to dispose of afterwards. If we need to dig deeper than normal due to soft, waterlogged or peaty soil, this will add to the cost. Likewise, very complicated designs with many shapes, different materials, steps, borders or blocks that require cutting, all slow down the process and can result in extra labour costs.

Of course do remember that if the area you are covering is larger, then there are savings to be made and your per square meter price will actually come down.
